NATIONAL EAT ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY

Eat Dessert FIRST is pretty much a motto I have lived by since forever.  

Even, JUST EAT DESSERT works for me.

I could live a lifetime without meat. Okay, except for the Jersey Mikes Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, that I drive 45 minutes there and back for.  There is not one in my city, so I must journey for it.  Side note of a story, about 5 years ago we were on vacation and had the option to eat Jersey Mikes...you know vacation food that you can’t get at home.  And we walked in and I didn’t like the way it smelled, I think I don’t like the aroma of deli meats in large quantities.  And then, 2 years ago were on vacation and I was starving and the closet thing was Jersey Mikes and I was...okay what ever I will stay in the car and get me the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. OMG, it changed my life, it was so delicious. Okay, it didn’t change my life, I was very impressed and felt the need to eat each bite in awe and stare at my sandwich from all angles in disbelief of how tasty.  Of course, I was starving, but I got one the next day too, it has yet to disappoint.   The years I wasted by not eating it!  Every time we go to Los Angeles, we stop in Santa Clarita to get one.  We used to just stop at the grapevine and drive through to Los Angeles, now it’s the grapevine and Santa Clarita, proceed to destination.💖

I do enjoy fruits and veggies.  Cheese and desserts are staples in my life.  I will say, they are not that friendly to me however.  My body doesn’t take to most desserts anymore and even cheese has begun complications in my system.

The mind does boggle with all the different ways you can combine sugar, cinnamon and flour!  Do you not understand all the things those 3 simple ingredients can do, have you not wondered about this as much as me?  Here is a little secret, for about 7 years I was working on my recipe to join the Pillsbury Cook Off.  I was serious, it was happening… and then I started becoming more health conscious and changed my mind.  It was obviously going to contain sugar, cinnamon and flour, perhaps that is why I’ve spent quite a large amount of time in wonderment over those 3 magical ingredients and their synergy.🌟

But let’s skip ahead to the party!  

Speaking of parties, for my 40th birthday my theme was EAT DESSERT FIRST.😍 We traveled 350 miles to Mission Viejo California because they had my childhood ice cream birthday spot there.  Farrell’s  Ice Cream Parlor.  I was so excited!  I had the employees sing the birthday song, I wore the birthday hat and all.  A hot fudge Sundae was first and then a Cobb Salad. I love a Cobb Salad💖   I didn’t eat it all because that’s an odd mixture.  It was all yumm though.  I can’t even tell you what my kids ordered, because I was so wrapped up in my own happiness.  Which is honestly refreshing, because it is ALWAYS about them.

We did other things for my 40th birthday that we will discuss in another post.  Didn’t want you thinking, I drove 350 miles just for ice cream.  I did however once drive 205 miles extra which is about 4 hours from Pismo Beach California to La Habra California… since I was “so close” to go to Krispy Kreme donuts in 2000.  It was a whole phenomenon back in 2000 about Krispy Kreme and I lived in San Jose at the time, there were no Krispy Kreme’s anywhere and La Habra had one, and we were going to Pismo… so might as well drive past Pismo and go to Labra and then go back...right!  Makes sense to me. It was worth it and I would do it again🌟  sometime you have to simply do what makes you happy😍

I really feel one should responsibly do what makes you happy as often as you can.  I have lived my life like this and have tried to express to my children the importance of this theory.  It is a delicate balance, perhaps another way to say it is 

Work Hard, Play Harder✨💖✨

Saturday, February 6, 2021 is National EAT ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY!  I am all over it, is happening in my household.  If ice cream isn’t your thing, I advise you to substitute it for something else that makes you happy.  LIVE IT UP!🎉

If dessert is not for you and you really enjoy dinner, a nice bloody Prime Rib or what have you.  DO IT🌟 DINNER FOR BREAKFAST IT IS!  While that sounds not appetizing to me...it’s not about me, IT IS ABOUT YOU!

Do not wait until next year to have ice cream for breakfast or your favorite dessert for breakfast.  Do it once a month, once every 3 or 4 months.

Middle name: it is French, starts with a C... we don’t remember it...we believe Felix has erased all our memory of it (We can look at his kitty records..we just haven’t)

Astrology sign: Taurus, Pisces or Gemini

Enjoys: late night early morning tap dancing on the kitchen counter & sneaking to eat gourmet dog food.  El Pollo Loco, He is crazy for the chicken and will jump on the counter with us in the room (Where he is not allowed) because he cannot even control himself.  LOVES Bird watching out the window.

Best friend: Ceder the middle son

Felix appears to look like a cat, however he is actually not.  We have another cat, Stella Luna...she is a cat.  Felix is NOT a cat.

We believe he has actually been knighted, so it is Sir Felix to you.

He has a French, yet very distinctive Spanish accent.  Yes, you read that correctly.

He thinks catnip is dumb and does not understand why the actual cat Stella loves it so much.  The look of disgust he gives her as she rolls about in it, is fun to watch.

We believe he is in some sort of secret service/ ninja type deal.  his services takes place when he goes missing in the house.  Felix is an indoor “Cat”. Could be time travel, other dimension...we do-not really know.  Clearly he is very good at his job🌟 a simply jingle of the cat treat bag can magically make him return from whatever dimension/time travel location ninja job.

Felix came to us by pure magic and positive thinking.  

See, the middle son and I are deathly allergic to cats. DEATHLY.  Even so,  in 2013 the thought occurred to me that I wanted a grey kitty, like the one I used to play with at my moms friends house every weekend, when we first learned I was DEATHLY allergic to cats.  

I had the thought, cleared it with the kids.  So the positive intention thoughts were placed.

3 weeks later I saw a free box of kittens on Facebook garage sale.  It was a grey kitty and some siblings. I really wanted it...but I wasn’t sure...you know me and the son And our allergies.

A few days later it was only a black one left.  I was so close to replying, but didn’t reply fast enough as that kitten too was taken.  I was bummed. Had regrets. I think I already loved him by the photo.  And then magically the black kitten was returned!  I replied and he was ours. Yes, we got a free returned kitty from Facebook garage sales.💖

He quickly became the loves of our lives, except for the Chihuahua Bella.  She was not impressed, and still is not to this day.  Felix has the utmost respect for her, as any distinguished gentleman would, and stays out of her way.  Excepts meets up with her at the door when she is barking, Felix is there to stand guard and to protect.  Bella the dog and Felix the (human, dog “Cat”) go towards the doorbell and Stella the cat goes into hiding.  Oh by the by...we have had ZERO ALLERGIC REACTIONS.

💖The situation is:

I believe Felix has me in training program against my will.  I feel as though, his experiment is not going well and I am slow learner...in his opinion.   I am most certain his Captains Journal has the most derogatory comments to say about my performance.

For the last 6 months, whenever I get water out of the fridge water dispenser...Felix comes around the corner from whatever time dimension he has been in and sits and looks at me, making sure to engage in eye contact.  He then looks at the top of the fridge at his bag of treats and then back to me...starting at me deeply.  It was confusing at first because I do not know how this began.  60% of the time, I grab the treats and let it rain treats on the floor.  Other times, I’m like no...WTF.  I think this is what happens in the mind of actual animals when they are being trained for things.  

Maybe mindlessly one day I grabbed the treats while getting water and in his head it became and official thing.  

He only does this when I get water...no one else in the household.  Why am I the subject for this testing?

Sometimes I give him the treats, other times I do not.  I want to be consistent, but I just can’t....because it’s annoying, and he doesn’t own me...perhaps I don’t own him either.  He has even started to come running when I turn on the kitchen faucet...that is a HARD NO.  

Why is my cat trying to train me?

Why can not I not be consistent for him?

Why do I randomly find him sitting starting at the top of the fridge?  In my head I imagine he has vision like mission impossible google glasses with stats and degrees on how to do back flips to climb up and get his own treats.

Of course I do have an over active imagination...

Bella Roxy the chihuahua has a British accent, and is rather proper.

Stella Luna is a California Valley Girl, who may or may not say “like” mid sentence for no apparent reason more than me.

  She had a twin brother Brodie, who was a bit of a juvenile delinquent & lovable California surfer dude. Brodie crossed the rainbow bridge due to his love of eating all things rubber on our shoes and gym equipment.  We have fond memories when we look down at some of our Ugg’s and thongs  and see little tiny bite marks.🌈😇
